Building an Award List for Your Outing

Start with the format. A four-person scramble usually awards the winning team, so order four matching trophies for first place (and second or third if you like). Stroke-play events may award low gross and low net by flight, such as Flight A and Flight B. Then add one trophy per contest hole and any fun awards. Charity tournaments often include a sponsor thank-you, and a plaque is a classic way to do it.

Club and league championships often use a perpetual plaque with a new name plate each year, while junior golf programs recognize players with personalized trophies and medals.

What to Engrave on a Golf Trophy

Include the award, the event name and the date: "Longest Drive - Annual Charity Classic 2026", "Low Net - Flight B", "Club Champion 2026" or "Hole-in-One - Hole 7". For a hole-in-one, add the course and the club used. Trophy plates commonly allow up to 30 characters per line, varying by product.
