Planning Awards by Division

Count your draws first. Each singles division needs a winner and a finalist award; each doubles division needs two of each, since both partners take one home. Many tournaments add medals for semifinalists or consolation winners. Divisions are often split by age group, skill level or rating, so write out the full list before ordering.

Trophies, Cups or Medals?

Figure trophies are the most common tennis award because they clearly show the sport and come in male and female versions. Cups carry a traditional, championship feel that suits club finals and season-ending team titles. Medals are the practical option for junior tournaments with large draws, round-robin events and camps, where many players need an award at once. Mixing them is common: a trophy for the champion and finalist, and medals for semifinalists.

Season Timing

High school tennis banquets usually follow the end of the school season, while club championships and ladders often wrap up at a set time each year. Tournament directors should order once draw sizes are final so each division gets the right count.

What to Engrave on a Tennis Trophy

Name the division and the result, then the player and event: "Men's 4.0 Doubles - Champion", "Girls 14U Singles - Finalist", "Club Ladder Winner 2026" or "Most Improved Player". For doubles, engrave each partner's own name on their trophy. Trophy plates commonly allow up to 30 characters per line, varying by product.
